SKAAC does fashion - haute couture?
Sunday, November 16, 2008
SKAAC delivered a new experience to aths goers at Ringwood on Saturday when the relay team fronted in SKAAC women's crop-tops. Only problem it wasn't a female team! This truly frightening experience stunned a large crowd who turned up at Ringwood. It will be interesting to see if any of the opposition front up to the next round. We may have found the route to the premiership. The photo shows Alex Carew handing over to Tom Rowe.
Results are now posted.
Round 4 on Saturday
Thursday, November 13, 2008
This week's competition is at Ringwood - Proclamation Park (Melways Ref 49 F12). SKAAC will be located on the hill overlooking the finishing line.
As per last season, SKAAC is required to provide 4 officials for each round of Shield competition. Each week SKAAC fails to do this, the Club is in danger of losing precious premiership points.
Following on from the successful introduction of weekly officials roster last year where each athlete was required to cover one official's position for one week during the season, we will be releasing a roster commencing in round 5. All athlets will be contacted over the next week.
This week SKAAC is required to provide 4 officials to run the javelin. Anybody willing to assist this week will not be included on the roster for the remainder of the season.

Round 1 This Saturday at Nunawading
Thursday, October 16, 2008
The first round of track and field will be held this Saturday at Nunawading Athletic Track (Melways Ref 62 C7). The club has entered a broad range of teams to cater for most competition standards, with club teams in Divisions 1 2, U18, U16 and U14 men and Division 2 and U16 women.
The track program commences at 1:00pm and the full program for Saturday (program 1) can be found here.
The early rounds of the season are often less well attended than the later rounds, which throws up some unexpected results. If a team gets some unexpectedly easy wins early in the season, it takes the pressure off in the run to the finals. On the other hand, if a team loses winnable premiership points through athletes not competing early in the season, it is pretty hard to get the points back when the competition is tight later in the season. From an individual perspective, it is also a good chance to get unfit muscles moving again and build up some momentum before the competition hots up too much.
You need to be registered to compete, so if you are not already registered, get your club rego form, AV rego form and fees in to Dino Imbriano (address on the club form) as soon as possible. If anyone is not yet registered and would like to compete on Saturday, please feel free to give Dino a call on 0419 381 727.
Club training sessions are continuing throughout the season, so if members want to have a few sessions with a professional coach, come along to club training at Box Hill on Thursday evenings or contact the club's training co-ordinator.
