All Time Rankings Updated
Friday, January 29, 2010
It's been a while, but the ever-popular SKAAC All Time Rankings have now been updated.
Athletes who have entered or improved their rankings since the last edition (about a year ago) include Alex Carew, Alex Rowe, Scott Crowe, Matthew Bertacco, Steve Cain (who also set new club Shot Put and Decathlon records), Dan Bailey, Gerry Sofianos, Jason Kozica and Lincoln Mah.
Also updated is the All-Time Tan List. The top 10 of the tan list is plain scary, with 11.33 required to crack a top 10 that includes several Australian World Championships representatives, national champions and one very fit musician.
The rest of the stats will be updated shortly.

Saturday Twilight Meet - Final Round Before Finals
Last round tomorrow evening, before the SKAAC juggernaut continues on to the finals in mens Div 1 and Div 3.
With both mens teams safely in the 4, it is a chance to have a tune up in a few events before the finals, while the Div 1 team is also in the running for the minor premiership. We are currently listed in AV ladders as second on the ladder in Div 1, with only 3 premiership points between the top 3 teams of Collingwood, SKAAC and Box Hill.
Base camp will be in the usual spot on the hill, overlooking the 30-40m mark.

Round 10 Interclub and Milers
With a clash with milers club, many middle distance athletes stayed away from round 10. With 2 major hamstring injuries (Sandor Kazi and Ben McDonald), a few of the sprinters probably wished they had too.
Athletes absent on holiday also played a part. In track events, we at least filled out div 1 team spots in most events, but our numbers were right down, with only about half the usual number of results. In particular we had a big gap in top end track performances, with the exceptions being Alex Rowe, 49.46 in the 400m (Dan Bailey was next quickest for SKAAC in 51.91), while Dan Bailey's 16.1s for second place in the 110H was also right up there. In the 100m Matt Vassie was quickest in 11.85, although it has to be said that Sandor Kazi also did pretty well to cross the line in 12.03 on one leg.
However, a very strong performance in the field by Steve Cain, Dan Bailey, Chris Hargreaves and Hamish Nelson should give some credibility to our total when the teams results are out. The (relative) boom in the walk also continued, with Gerry Sofianos leading the way with a big PB and three walkers in total.
Across town at Milers Club, St Kevin's was well represented by Regan Logan, James Pettigrew, Timas Harik, Mark De Luca and Peter Shearman.
Individual results from interclub are available here, with teams results to follow.
